The Veils began as an exploration of atmosphere - how color, transparency, and slow shifts in tone can create a sense of suspended time. These oil and acrylic diptychs are built in layers, allowing each pour, each mark, each pass of color to settle before the next emerges. The process mirrors the internal quiet I seek: a softening, a clearing, a moment where perception becomes expansive.
Rather than describing a particular place, the Veils hold the emotional afterimage of morning light, open space, or a shift in weather. Their horizontal fields and luminous transitions invite the viewer into a slower, rhythm, one where the edges of sky, land, and air blur into a single contemplative field. Though they differ materially from my oil works, the Veils share the same intention - an invitation into presence, spaciousness, and subtle perception.
