Can you believe it's 2013?!  It's upon us, and I have to admit, I'm not ready yet.  Every year by this time, I have completed my Year in Review and have already set my New Year goals. That has simply not happened, but I do intend to get that worked out soon.  Better late than never? So much attention has been given to getting our studio up and running.  Furniture has been picked out!  Things are being organized!  But we still have lots of work to be done.
Here is a sneak peek at a Christmas present given to me by my sister.  She created these fantastic hanging pots - they look excellent in our studio.  Just what it needs!

·         Complete my "Portraits" series
·         Continue my Black and White series
·         Complete 3 large canvases per month
·         Complete 10 small studies per week

Business
  • Update mailing list quarterly
  • Schedule at least 1 solo show for 2013
  • Have new postcards designed, ordered
  • Order new small notecards
  • Have artist brochure printed quarterly, as needed
  • Update website at least once a week with new paintings and current events
  • Update blog at least once a week, preferably 3 times
  • Continue to develop and improve my monthly Studio Newsletter
  • Update Etsy site weekly
  • Tweak my artist statement
  • Update my onesheet
  • Create a book showcasing my art
  • Enter 3 "good" juried shows within the year
  • Overhaul my record-keeping system for inventory, for reals
  • Send out a researched mailing of onesheet/cover letter to galleries at the end of 2012
  • Make sure I reference this list monthly to keep me on target and make this entire "goal setting" process worthwhile!
My focus this year will be developing a consistent, powerful body of larger work.  I am very much looking forward to my solo exhibition at Annex Gallery and am excited about the prospect of searching out other galleries towards the end of the year.
