Thought I'd share a few recent photos that I have taken as inspiration for use in the studio. The silting of Prickett's Creek particularly fascinates me. Haven't had enough time outdoors lately, so Derek and I went to a nearby park... It's been very dry frequently. Felt almost like fall... We brought a blanket and shared some particularly good apricots. I recently tried fresh apricots for the first time (not sure why I had never eaten anything but dried before!) I can't forget to take time and refuel. It was great to get out... I hope everyone has been able to enjoy this last bit of nice weather we've been having (at least in WV, anyway)! Thought I would share some fall photos from a weekend walk along a local trail... If you are signed up with my mailing list, you will be receiving an invitation to the Arts Walk in my hometown of Fairmont, WV to commemorate the opening of the Alan B. Mollohan Gateway Connector! I am thrilled to have been invited to be one of the artists representing Marion County. You can find me there from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Gateway on Saturday, October 15, 2011. There will also be numerous other artists, musicians, actors, and vendors celebrating, too! The Gateway will be commemorated also with a special ceremony, the opening of the new Marion County Visitors Center, a 5-K Night Glow Run, and a huge fireworks show. So if you are in the area, come out and join us! |
