Just got my copies of the first drop of the West Elm Summer catalog in the mail and my work is included in it! Unreal!
I'm happy to announce that my piece "Mon River - October 22nd" has been accepted into the Allied Artists of West Virginia 2012 Juried Exhibition! You will find this painting on display from May 11th through June 28th at the Parkersburg Arts Center in Parkersburg, WV. Congrats to Derek, who has been accepted as well! I am so so happy to be able to (finally) announce that my work will be featured in the West Elm Summer 2012 catalog! For those of you who may be unfamiliar with West Elm, it was launched by Williams-Sonoma Inc. in 2002 and "has become a destination for design lovers–and it continues to grow. Mixing clean lines, natural textures and global accents, west elm creates unique, affordable designs for modern living." Waaaay back in September 2011, I was asked to participate in their photoshoot, with the possibility of being selected for the catalog. I scrambled to get the requested (large) painting to the shoot in Brooklyn (they needed it ASAP).* There were no guarantees that I would be included in the catalog, and I'm so fortunate to have made the cut! West Elm partners with select Etsy artists to be featured online and in each of their seasonal catalogs, so they have original artwork paired with their products, and the artist's etsy shop is mentioned, too. To receive a West Elm catalog, you can sign up right here. *I had literally just delivered the painting to Sleeth Gallery for exhibition! I am so grateful that Sleeth Gallery director Margo Davis let me drive down and substitute the painting. Thank goodness the exhibit hadn't been installed yet, whew! North central WV saw some fairly severe flooding a little while back (our basement was included, ugh). On Sunday, Derek and I came out of hibernation and explored around at Prickett's Creek, which was hit hard. |
